The port of Umeå is one of the largest ports in northern Nordics with an annual freight handling of currently about 2.5 million tonnes. Half of the products that pass the port come from the forest such as kraftliner, wood products and more. The port is strategically located on the naturally shortest road between Sweden and Finland across the northern Bothnian Sea and is a year-round port.
